Have Your Say on the Pay Offer to Schools and Council staff
The NJC Committee met last week to consider the pay offer of 3.2% and the feedback from regions.
The Committee agreed to launch a consultation of members on the offer, with a ‘reject’ recommendation.
The offer barely covers inflation and represents a lower rise than last year for lower paid staff
This is in line with the decisions of the other two NJC unions unite & GMB
The consultation is due to launch on 16 May and finish on 20 June
As with last year, the consultation will be conducted centrally using the national digital consultation system so please look out for an email and make sure you take part.
We need a clear steer from members as to if we should escalate to a formal industrial action ballot in September.
Conversely if members want to accept the offer and get it paid sooner then say so now as a ballot would mean settlement in November at the earliest.
Plymouth in UNISON urges you to vote for action, but more than anything we urge you to vote
