Members have regularly contacted us to see how we can influence the fund over environmental and human rights issues and we have tried but the fund managers are some distance away and have a fiduciary duty so it isn’t easy. This is an opportunity to have our voices heard so please take it

The Devon County Council Pension Fund is conducting a survey of fund member views on how we manage the investments of the Fund. We are therefore writing to you to invite you to complete the survey.
The Fund has a fiduciary duty to maximise investment returns at an appropriate level of risk, but can take non-financial factors into account if there is no significant detriment to the financial position of the Fund and where there is strong evidence that pension fund members would support the approach.
The results of the survey will be reported to the Investment and Pension Fund Committee, who are the decision making body for the Fund. The Committee will then be able to consider the results of the survey in making future decisions on the investments of the Fund.

The survey should be completed by Wednesday 19th November.
